Fees / Billing Policy

We are a 100% Bulk Billing general practice for all those holding a valid Medicare card attending for a consult covered by Medicare. This includes a bulk billed specialist service.

Parking

There is sufficient short term street parking available directly in front of the medical centre and additional parking across the road.

Onsite Pathology

QML pathology is located within the practice and are open Tuesday and Thursday between 8:30am and 11:30am. 

Communication Policy 

Our patients may leave mesages for our general practitioners, however, please note that unless the message is urgent, calls will not be retunred until the end of the session. If a message is of a clinical nature, patients may speak to our practice nurse in lieu of the general practitioner. 

New Patients

All new patients, and from time to time our regular patients, will be asked to complete our patient information form. This form collect important information such as demographics, emergency contact information, your consent to our staff telephoning or writing to you regarding recalls, personal medical history including allergies and adverse reactions, current medication, family history and chronic conditions, and our practice privacy statment. 

Appointments 

Booking appointments with our general practitioner or nurse can be made in person or over the phone. If you or your family members are new patients to our clinic, our friendly reception staff will ask a series of personal identifying questions. From time to time we will check these details with you to ensure our information is current and correct. This includes date of birth, gender, contact telephone number/s, address, Medicare number and Commonwealth concession card details. 

Follow-up of Results

If your doctor requests tests or refers you to a medical specialist, you will be advised how and when to follow-up with your doctor for the results. Generally, you will be required to make a follow-up appointment to discuss. 

Patients, at times, may telephone and ask for test results. It is our pactice policy that results may only be given over the phone by front desk staff on request from the doctor. 

Our doctors will leave a specific message to relay to patients. If you have any further questions regarding these results you will be required to make a follow-up appointment with your doctor. 

In all cases, our satff will conduct an identity check. Only the person whose name appears on the results may be given the information, unless the patient is a child. 

Waiting Times

We try our best to run as close to time as possible, however, some people may be more unwell than they thouught on booking their appointment and may need more times than they had booked for or emergency issues may arise. 

When we are running considerably late we will do our best to contact you ebfore tou attend the surgery to arrange a later time or to rebook your appoinment. 

Patient Feedback 

Our practice seeks patient feedback on their experiences with our practice to support quality improvement activities. 

Despite best intentions, complaints may arise. Please direct any feedback to our practice manager on 5596 1260 and we will endeavour to respond promptly and effectively. 

If you feel our practice has not properly dealt with your complaint, you may contact The Office of the Health Ombudsman.
